| VENUE - The Plough on A420 between Faringdon & Swindon Time - 7.30 pm for 8.00 pm This is the annual inter-Branch skittles match. West Vale have cleaned up for the last three years on the trot and this year we look set to do the same again. Sure enough we won again. Fortunately winning it four times in a row does NOT mean we can keep the trophy which is lump of wood roughly hewn to represent a boat - truly hideous. |

at the Caudwell Day Centre, Gravel Lane, Drayton, Abingdon.
The quiz was won on a tie-breaker by the Forward/Norris team from this Branch (they were also joint winners of round 4). The Large/Kendall/Breese team, also from this Branch, were runners-up, after losing the tie-break, and winners of rounds 1 and 2. It should be noted that the Large/Kendall/Breese team supported the Forward/Norris team's claim of an extra 1/2 point earlier in the quiz, thus costing them the title - but they're not bitter. Not at all. Honest. (Aside: West Vale Branch makes a habit of cleaning up at this sort of event. The Branch has been the winner of the Team, Ladies and Gents intra-Group skittles competition for the last three years. It's nice to win - but the other Branches really do need to buck their ideas up.) |
