Really Finishing the Bridleway Diversion!

There were a few loose ends after the March work party. We needed to complete the rails of our post-and-rail fence and make sure everything was in place for the visit by interested parties in May.

History was also made on the day when, probably for the first time in over 90 years, a "working boat" was used on this stretch of canal. Orph brought his dinghy, the tender to "Weyfly", down to the Cut and Phil bow hauled it with some supplies to the bridge site. The weeds caused problems, but we hope to clear these when our "homemade" punt is launched soon. Hopefully the punt will make getting supplies such as bricks and cement to site much easier.

A draw rope has been put in place to allow a boat to be pulled from the temporary dam at the bridge site rather than the tow path.
