Steppingstone Lane Bridge Restoration

Moving the Big Blue Box
In January we finished the preparation of the bridleway diversion, ready for the scalpings to laid down. Before we could start laying the scalpings, we had to move our storage box from its position in a field (where it had been left after the infamous February 2001 work party) to the side of the bridleway diversion.

The contents of the box removed prior to its move

No lifting equipment was available, only a Tirfor winch. Alan and Graham did the hardwork.

The box is coaxed to its new home

Once the box was in position, scalpings were laid to avoid the entrance to the box getting churned up and to make access easier by removing the step up.

The job complete, there was time to sit back and relax
