West Vale Branch
Shrivenham, Watchfield and Bourton Parish Magazine Report
January 2003

At this social time of year, I am pleased to report that our Branch again retained the “Das Boot” trophy by winning the annual skittles match between the other Oxfordshire Branches of East Vale, Abingdon and ourselves. This was held at The Plough at the end of November and was enjoyed by all who attended. See, it isn’t all muddy ditches and moaning!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a special New Year, from the Branch, especially those that have given us encouragement in both word and deed in the task of restoring the canal. Maybe, 2003 is the year that one or two more members of our thriving community “get stuck in” and come along to our meetings and work parties. I certainly hope so.

For more information or to volunteer assistance please come along to one of our meetings held in the Shrivenham Bowls Club, Martens Road, on the second Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m. You will be made very welcome. For those with a computer and Internet access please visit our Branch Web Site at www.westvalecanal.fsnet.co.uk.
